Die Modewelt lebt unter anderem davon, alle paar Jahre neue Trends auszurufen – und genau das Gegenteil von dem zu tun, was sie vorher zur angesagten Stilrichtung erklärt hat. Über Jahre konnten sich Luxusmarken für Kleidung, Taschen und Co. gar nicht laut und aufdringlich genug präsentieren.
Riesige Buchstaben und Motive auf Jacken, Hemden und Blusen oder XXL-Logos auf Handtaschen teilten allen anderen Menschen mit:

Dieser Begriff des „getarnten Reichtums“ ist sprachlich angelehnt an die Tarnkappen-Technologie der Stealth-Flieger. Auffällige Farben und Designs oder prägnante Logos sind ab sofort verpönt. Stattdessen üben sich die Designer in vornehmer Zurückhaltung. Ein banales schwarzes T-Shirt von einer Edelmarke kann gleichwohl mehrere Hundert Euro kosten – zu erkennen ist das aber nur noch für Eingeweihte.
Ein möglicher Grund für diesen Trend: Luxus demonstrativ zur Schau zu stellen, ist nicht in allen Kreisen gerne gesehen. Stattdessen genießt man lieber im Stillen nur für sich. Deshalb ist die edle und entsprechend kostspielige Herkunft der Outfits lediglich für andere Vermögende erkennbar. Oft erst auf den zweiten oder dritten Blick.
